Product Preparation & Application
Material Preparation:
This product is prepared at application viscosity and should require no thinning prior to use. However, if the conditions at your facility dictate that a thinner be incorporated, we recommend the use of SOL-9025, N-Butyl Acetate, at no more than 5% by volume.
Catalyzation:
Catalyze Clear Aliphatic Urethane with pre-packaged catalyst kit (4 parts A to 1 part B by volume) in a stainless steel or plastic lined container. Do not attempt to catalyze in smaller quantities than kit units. Mix or agitate thoroughly before use.
Application:
Clear Aliphatic Urethane is designed for spray application. Temperatures will affect viscosity. All products are designed to achieve the highest possible solids content at a viscosity low enough to allow proper spray atomization without the addition of costly chemical solvents. For optimum performance we recommend a coating system comprised of 2-3 coats of Clear Aliphatic Urethane at 3-4 mils wet film per coat. If a faster Sanding Schedule is required, a high quality Conversion Vinyl Sealer, such as 210-0008, may be substituted for the first coat of Urethane. Maximum dry film build for the complete coating system should not exceed 4 mils.
Do not use over lacquer stains or over paste wood filler, as these compromise adhesion.
Clean-up:
Use #500 Gem Coat Lacquer Thinner or SOL-9011 HAPs Free Lacquer Thinner to clean all equipment. Dispose of in accordance with Federal, State, and Local regulation regarding pollution.
